Court certified translations are made solely by translators appointed for such purpose, and a specific language, by either regional or municipal court… The translation is attached to the original tied in a hard copy accompanied by the translator’s clause and stamp constituting an integral part of the translation. This usually applies to translations of personal documents, such as birth certificates, marriage certificates and school reports, as well as extracts from the commercial register, crime register, contracts, diplomas, medical certificates etc.
In order to obtain a copy of a text with the validity of the original to be attached to the translation together with the court translator’s clause and stamp, a copy of the original is certified by a notary, leaving your original text intact.
Proofreading is done by experienced proofreaders, always native speakers. It consists mainly of making stylistic changes and correcting mistakes. The job is considered to be proofreading if the text requires only minor changes and corrections. If the text requires major revisions due to a deficient translation, it is considered to be reworking/translation rather than proofreading.
